THIS IS
NICO BLUM

Nico Blum is a German darts talent who was already celebrated as an exceptional player in his youth, but has come a long way after a low point - and has been fighting his way back to the top bit by bit since 2022.

The “Flower Power”, who was born in Overath in 2000, was already collecting titles as a teenager: in 2015, he won several DDV youth tournaments and exhibition matches against professionals such as Stephen Bunting. In 2016, he reached the semi-finals of the German Open Youth and won the prestigious Kings Cup. A highlight followed at the Winmau World Masters 2017, when Blum became the second German after Carsten Hoffmann to win the youth competition.

He made his debut on the European Tour in April 2017, storming into the main draw of the German Darts Open in Saarbrücken with a 6:4 win over Josh Payne. He also gained experience on the Super League and the Development Tour in 2018 and 2019, but narrowly missed out on the Q-School and was relegated from the Super League. He dropped out of the 2020 season after missing out on Q-School and disappointing Development Tour results and dedicated himself to his training as a roofer.

A comeback began in the fall of 2022: Blum won the first DDV tournament of the season in Hamburg and took part in more tournaments again. In 2024, he qualified for a European Tour event for the first time in a long time (European Darts Open in Leverkusen) and played his way into the quarter-finals of the World Masters in October, where he narrowly missed match darts against Corne Groeneveld. A week later, he secured another DDV title in Hamburg.
