THIS IS
DRAGUTIN HORVAT

Dragutin Horvat has been one of the best-known faces in German darts for many years. The “Hercules” from Kassel has celebrated numerous successes in both soft and steel-tip darts and was a regular participant in PDC tournaments for many years - even without a tour card.

Horvat began his career in soft-darts back in 1999. In this discipline, he became German Open Singles Champion in 2010 and won the DSAB Masters against Stefan Stoyke in 2011. At the same time, Horvat increasingly took part in steel-dart tournaments and made his breakthrough on the European Tour in 2016 when he reached the quarter-finals of the International Darts Open in Riesa after defeating Ricky Evans, Gerwyn Price and Ian White.

In the same year, he qualified for the PDC World Championship for the first time via the Super League. After a preliminary round win over Boris Koltsov, he lost to Simon Whitlock in round one. Since then, Horvat has regularly competed in Super League, reaching the final there several times, including in 2017, 2018 and 2020. He lost the latter in dramatic fashion after missing the Championship Dart at 141 Rest - and Nico Kurz secured his World Championship ticket instead.

His performances in 2019 and 2022 were particularly notable, when he managed a 9-darter in the Super League. Horvat also regularly competed internationally on the European Tour, where he reached the second round in Jena in 2022 after beating Jeff Smith.

In March 2023, he celebrated his first tournament win on the Challenge Tour in Hildesheim, followed by a place in the final at the beginning of May. Horvat finally secured his place in the 2024 UK Open via the ranking list. He reached the final again in the 2023 Super League - this time beating Pascal Rupprecht and returning to the World Championship, where he lost 3-0 to Mike De Decker.

The year 2024 also got off to a successful start for “Hercules”. He reached the final of his first tournament on the newly established PDC Europe Next Gen Tour. In May, he qualified for the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim and reached the final twice in one day at the Challenge Tour in Leicester, followed by another semi-final. In the fall of 2024, he moved up to the Pro Tour and defeated Martin Schindler, among others. In the 2024 Super League, he was the defending champion and lost in the semi-finals to Paul Krohne. His second tournament victory on the Challenge Tour followed in March 2025.
