David Pallett
General Information
I started playing at the age of just 8 years old, I improved slowly year over year till I made my home county debut playing for Shropshire at the age of 13, I played for Shropshire for about 6 seasons where I got selected to play for England Youth, I played for England Youth four man Team for 2 years, once in Germany for the Europe Cup and Secondly in England for my second Europe Cup.
At the age of 20 I decided to go and play for Cheshire county who were a much better side playing in the premiership of the British Inter County Championships, I lost my first game in the “B” side but won my second and winning Man of the Match I got promoted to playing in the A side with such players like Stuart Kellett, Stephen Bunting, Daryl Fitton, Tony O’shea, Gary Robson, Robbie Green and Ian White. After a couple of season I was selected to play for the England men’s team at the age of 22 in the home internationals against Scotland and Wales. I won my games against both Wales and Scotland and England went on to win the tournament.
That November I qualified for the Winmau World Masters and this would give me my first taste of proper TV Coverage, I played and lost to Cheshire County Team mate Tony O’shea 3 sets to 1 but playing on ESPN was definitely the highlight of my career up to that point.
I then decided to turn to the PDC and the following January I won my tour card over the four days at Q School. My first year and a half has been very difficult but I have enjoyed several wins against some of the best players in the world, Taylor, Whitlock, Chizzy etc, I have made a couple of last 16’s in Pro Tour Events and the last 16 in a couple of European Events the best experience was in Berlin where the crowds were amazing each game.
