BULL'S German Open

The BULL'S German Open is the leading Darts tournament in Germany and one of the biggest events worldwide.

Ranked “Category 1” in the WDF-Ranking the BULL'S German Open is the only BDO-Event in Germany. The inaugural German Open was played in Düsseldorf 1986 and was won by Bernd Hebecker (Ger) and Mia Mevissen (Eng).

After a short break Bochum became in 1990 the new home of the tournament. Organized by the “1. DSC Bochum 1982”  the tournament became one of the biggest events ever. The best players of the decades took part at the German Open.

Players like Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Bob Anderson, Jocky Wilson, Phil Taylor or Raymond van Barneveld have all something in common. None of them could ever win the German Open.

The Ladies Roll of Honor contains the biggest name in this sport like Sharon Colclough, Vicky Pruim, Mia Mevissen and Valerie Maytum in the early years followed by Francisca Hoenselaar, Trina Gulliver, Tricia Wright and Deta Hedman.

A youth tournament is played since 1990, six years later the youth event was divided into a girls and a boys event.

2007 BULL'S became the main sponsor of the event which official name became “BULL'S German Open”
